This is a lesson that I’m in the middle of right now. As ya’ll know, I recently had surgery and it’s been full on. I’ve been pushing myself too hard, running around still doing all the things without truly acknowledging how I’m feeling. I’m sore. I’m tired. I’ve got a million thoughts happening with all the things I want to do. I’m so passionate about all the injustice that’s going on in the world right now and I want to serve. But listen, if you’re not stopping to acknowledge what your body and your mind really need, then you better believe there will come a point when you can’t avoid it anymore. It will make you aware and you will be forced to stop.
So my question to you is, are you checking in with yourself? Are you acknowledging that you need time, you need space, you need to sit down and just rest? If you’re not doing any of that, how can you expect to be full of energy and ready to serve. It’s the truth. I don’t believe that life is short. I believe it’s long and although I feel as if I’ve lived such a full life already, I’ve barely scratched the surface. But if I don’t stop and slow the fuck down, then I won’t be any good to anybody.
Sit with the questions that I ask in this episode. Really feel them and feel your body. Acknowledge that you need to look after yourself and recognise that you need to breathe.
